During this period, several changes were made in the algorithm, which are described in more detail below:

  • The PV module transparency calculation has been updated. The new value is calculated as the ratio of the translucent area of the module to the total module area. The translucent area is calculated as the total module area minus the combined area of the solar cells and a 30 mm wide frame.

  • The time step and sun position calculations for the sunrise and sunset intervals have been updated. The new values are calculated using only the interval when the sun is above the horizon.

  • The calculation for DC Capacity has been updated. The new value is based on the module’s nameplate power and reports the whole power plant nameplate capacity. The main driver for these changes is the consistency of reporting between users' plan sets and their production modeling reports. This also affects the calculations of AC Energy YieldPerformance Ratioand DC/AC Ratio, and according to our estimates, these changes are expected to be lower than 0.5%.
