In this release:

  • New Stringing features:

    • Module counter for String Modules tool

    • Direct string poles to the start side

    • Optimized snake stringing

  • Cable Tray enhancements for a smoother experience.

New Stringing features

Module counter for String Modules tool

With the module counter, users can now select modules and confirm if they have selected the right amount of modules within their desired string length, further speeding up the stringing process. Users can also easily deselect by clicking on the module they'd like to deselect.

Direct string poles to the start side

By turning on this feature (checkbox), Roof Mount will direct the + and - poles to the start side. This is especially powerful for engineers who prefer to have the + and - poles together and facing the cable tray, providing the shortest cable length possible.

As an example shown in the GIF below with the feature turned on:

  • If the preferred cable tray is on the left of the modules, choose the first "Shape and Direction" option because in this option, the + pole is on the left side.

  • If the preferred cable tray is on the right of the modules, choose the third "Shape and Direction" option because, in this option, the + pole is on the right side.

💡Reminder: the + pole shown in direction selection is always the starting point for our stringing tool.

Optimize snake pattern

Under Stringing Type: Snake Stringing, users can find an "Optimize snake pattern" option.

By turning on this feature, PVcase Roof Mount will take the Stringing settings (type, orientation, and direction) into account but will prioritize stringing all modules. This optimization feature is particularly useful for tricky rooftops with various obstacles. Remember that this feature prioritizes stringing all modules, so it may not always be a straightforward snake pattern.

See the comparison below:

  • Optimize snake pattern off- unstrung modules in different parts of the layout.

    Optimize snake pattern off
  • Optimize snake pattern on- more modules strung with varying stringing patterns.

Cable Tray improvements for a smoother experience

Previously, Cable Tray Paths had to intersect to have Create Cabling work. To speed up users' process, we now allow a tolerance of 150mm. Users can now freely move intersecting cable trays without the system creating an additional mini cable tray section.
