In this release (1.38):

  • Cable Tray Parameters moved to a new tab

  • New cable tray feature: Custom Cable Tray Type

  • Color by Strings enhancement

Cable Tray Parameters moved to a new tab

In this release, the Cable Tray Parameters have been moved to a separate tab to enhance the user experience. In the new tab, users can set tray parameters and draw the cable tray path.

New Cable Tray Feature: Custom Cable Tray Type

In the Cable Trays tab, there are three options for Width:

  • Auto-adjust width,

  • Fixed, and

  • Custom (new feature)

Custom Cable Tray Type

Users can select this option to enter the cable tray sizes they want PVcase Roof Mount to use. Users can set the cable tray width and the maximum number of cables that can fit into it.

When the user clicks "Create Cabling", PVcase Roof Mount will select the appropriate tray size based on the count of cables we detect in each area. For example, if the user sets the following:

Max cables per tray

Tray width, m

40

0.100

80

0.200

And we detect a segment to have 60 cables, we will automatically use the 0.2m cable tray, as it is the most efficient tray size that fits the counted number of cables. If the cable count exceeds the maximum cables per tray and Roof Mount does not find a suitable tray size, a notification will appear to notify the user. In that case, please add a bigger tray size.

💡Reminder: If the user updates the settings in the Cable Tray tab, please regenerate cabling by clicking on "Create Cabling" so that the new settings will be reflected on the drawing.

Auto-adjust width

This option expands the tray width to fit all cables without limits, automatically increasing by 50mm for every 5 cables after cabling.

In the older versions, this has "auto adjust width" selected, as shown below:

Fixed width

This option maintains a constant tray width, regardless of cable quantity.

In the older version, this has "Auto adjust width" deselected, as shown below:

Color by Strings Enhancement

Users can now assign unique string colors independent of inverters. Previously, string colors were the same across all inverters, which could cause confusion as the colors could be repeated next to each other. With the enhancement, users have full control over coloring.
