New features
User-managed component library
We consolidated module and inverter settings into a centralized location called the Component Library. Now you can create not only module presets but also inverter presets, and then easily select them from a drop-down throughout the software. Before, you had to fill in the MPPT details separately in the cabling tab; now you can set up your most-used inverters from the get-go in the Component Library.
Previously, to initiate specific features of the software (i.e. Energy Simulation), you had to fill in the component information separately. Now you can simply choose from a drop-down the specific module and inverter you’d like to use for the feature. If the parameters are not filled in, you will be notified and you can simply update the component information to initiate the feature.
You can reuse the module and inverter presets for other projects by exporting and importing settings.
Improvements
Advanced stringing settings: tolerance level
You can now tailor your tolerance level for specific parameters of our stringing algorithm, dictating the criteria for what is acceptable to string through.
Previously, we had set default values that followed general best practices, but depending on the project location and circumstance, you may want to customize the values. This enhancement gives you more control over stringing in varying project scenarios. You can adjust the tolerable difference in the following parameters for the software to string through:
- Roof slope, °
- Module tilt, °
- Module azimuth, °
Manually flip string polarity
This new feature applies to situations where you have completed your stringing with our automation, but you’d like the positive (+) and negative (-) end terminals to be swapped. Previously, you would need to manually redraw the string to get the polarity the way you want it. With this update, you can do that by following 3 easy steps:
- Right-click
- Click on Roof Mount
- Click on Flip string polarities
Energy Simulation now supports mixed module orientations (landscape, portrait)
With this update, PVcase Roof Mount Energy Simulation can now run designs that comprise a mix of landscape and portrait modules. Previously, this was not possible and you would need to run simulations in separate files; buildings with landscape modules in one file and buildings with portrait modules in the other. We continuously improve on our Energy Simulation capabilities to save you time on getting the crucial production data you need for your projects.
