The Workspace menu allows you to establish and refine the foundational elements of your PVcase drawing.
It includes two sections:
- Settings
- Component library
Settings
Within the Settings section, you'll find a suite of powerful tools to tailor your project's environmental and operational parameters. Here, you can:
- Define location settings: Precisely input the geographical coordinates of your project site, which is crucial for accurate solar irradiance calculations and shadow analysis.
- Specify minimum and maximum temperatures: Set the expected temperature range for your site. These values are vital for module performance calculations and to ensure the longevity and efficiency of your solar components.
- Ensure unit consistency: Maintain uniformity across all measurements within your design. This feature helps prevent errors and ensures that all components and calculations are based on a consistent system of units.
- Activate features for testing and feedback purposes: Get early access to experimental functionalities and provide valuable feedback to our development team. Join us on our continuous improvement journey!
- Enable the Informational tooltips option across the PVcase Roof Mount interface. This way you can easily see useful information about different elements in your design, just by hovering over them.
Component library
The Component library is the centralized location where you can create and store both module and inverter presets. You can then select and reuse these presets from a drop-down menu anytime.
This means that, to initiate other important functionalities of PVcase Roof Mount (e.g. Energy simulation), you don’t need to fill in the component information again manually. All you have to do is select the module and/or inverter that you want to use for the functionality in question. If the parameters are not filled in, you will be notified, and you can simply update the component information to initiate the functionality.
Inside the Component library menu, you will find two tabs:
- Modules
- Inverters
The remaining articles of this section will explore further each of these features, providing instructions and tips for their optimal use in your PVcase projects.
