The Component library allows you to create module and inverter presets, and then select them from a drop-down throughout the software. This way, you can easily customize rooftop layouts to best use the available space and make sure the system meets the desired power capacity.
This article focuses on inverters. Visit Component library – Modules to learn how to create and manage inverters in the Component library.
Overview
In the Inverters tab, you can manage the inverters in your design through the following functionalities:
- Add new inverter
- Add from external library
- Create new inverter
- Import inverter parameters (.PV settings file)
- View and edit inverter
- Duplicate or delete inverter
Add from external library
You can add an inverter from an external library. The steps are almost the same as those for modules.
1. Click the Add new module button
2. Click Add from External Library
3. Type in keywords for the inverter(s) you are looking for
4. Use the filter to narrow down your results
5. Click to open each inverter and see more details
6. Click Save to My Library to start using the inverter in your designs
When the inverters are added to your own library, you will find them in the inverter drop-down throughout the product.
Create new inverter
To create a new inverter:
1. Click on the Add new inverter button
2. Fill in the fields with the required information and values
- General information
- Mechanical parameters
- Electrical parameters
3. Click Add to finalize. The new inverter will appear on the Inverters list.
Import inverter parameters
You can also import the module parameters from an existing file. The steps are almost the same as those for modules:
1. Click Add inverter
2. Select Import .PVsettings file
3. Select a file from your device
4. Select Inverters parameters from the available data and then click Import
5. Click Ok to finalize. The parameters will show up automatically on the list
Export settings
As with modules, you can repeat this process at any point using the Export settings tool, to either import or export inverter parameters. This way, you can reuse them in other projects.
View and edit inverter
You can always go back to the inverter parameters to either view or edit your settings:
1. Click Open at the far right side of the window
2. Check and/or edit the settings and click Save or Cancel depending on whether you need to save any changes or not
Duplicate / delete inverter
Using the ellipsis menu you can:
- Duplicate an inverter – the new inverter will appear on the list marked as a copy. You can rename the inverter duplicate or edit its settings as you would with any inverter on the list
- Delete an inverter – select Yes, delete to confirm your action
As with modules, you can repeat this process at any point using the Export settings tool, to either import or export inverter parameters. This way, you can reuse them in other projects.
