Terrain-following trackers: improved layout generation
We improved our layout generation algorithm for terrain-following trackers: it will now perform better on rough terrain, achieving a more realistic placement and considerably reducing ground grading volumes compared to the previous version.
How does it work?
You don’t need to do anything differently.
Just remember: when you specify the frame parameters in the Terrain following trackers settings, select the option Generates respecting allowed angles. This way, maximum allowed angles will be respected at generation.
Important note
When this option is enabled, layout generation for terrain-following trackers won't be near-instant, as it was before. It can take a few minutes to complete, especially for restrictive joint angles.
2D Roads: automatic cross sections & T-junctions
We updated the 2D roads functionality. Now, whenever two roads intersect, a cross section or T-junction will be automatically created for you. Moreover, we added support for circular roads.
How does it work?
Simply click on Draw Road, or Select from the Draw Road interface, to either draw a polyline or select an existing one, respectively.
When two road lines fully intersect, they will create a crossroad. If the lines intersect only partially (at a specific point), they will form a T-shaped or other angled connection. In both cases, the design respects the parameters of the roads. The functionality also works if you copy/paste or design a road on top of an existing one.
Important note
Currently, this functionality only works on 2D Roads.
We're working on porting the same functionality to 3D.
