PVcase Color Coding helps you inspect and verify your electrical design by visually organizing your layout. Using these tools, you can highlight transformer coverage zones or review individual string configurations to ensure your electrical connections are assigned correctly.

Color coding
Let’s explore the Color Coding menu and see how it may help with your projects.
You can access Color Coding directly in the Electrical Design window using the top tab row. Once inside, you’ll see several color-coded rows. Each row corresponds to a different transformer or central inverter in your layout.
We use the first row for your first central inverter or transformer, moving down the list sequentially. To have more diverse coloring, you may add a string color by clicking on the plus sign or add more rows by clicking Add row.
The color on the far right, slightly apart from the rest, would be used for hatches in Transformer zone coloring.
You can also change these colors to suit our project's needs, or randomize them by clicking the Randomize colors button.
Color coding modes
PVcase offers two distinct modes depending on what you need to highlight:
Transformer Zone Coloring
String-Level Coloring
Transformer Zone Coloring
Select this mode from the drop-down menu, click Color, and choose the transformers or central inverters you want to emphasize. Press Space or Enter on your keyboard to finish. You’ll now see clear hatch lines enclosing the boundary of all frames connected to each selected device.
String-Level Coloring
Select String-level coloring from the drop-down menu and pick your target transformer or central inverter. Press Space or Enter, and PVcase will instantly color-code your strings to show exactly which ones belong to the same string inverter or DC combiner.
Removing Color Coding
To clear your color coding, click Remove coloring and select the inverter or transformer stations you want to reset. Press Space or Enter on your keyboard to complete the removal for both String-level and Transformer zone coloring.
