Integration of Thin Film Module Types (CdTe) in Simulation
We are excited to announce the latest enhancements in our simulation capabilities with the inclusion of CdTe thin-film module types. These updates are designed to provide you with more versatility and accuracy in your solar energy projects. You can find the key features and important notes regarding this update below.
Enhanced module input modal
You can now view and adjust the Temperature Coefficient of Maximum Power directly within the module input modal. You can also easily identify and select Cell types, including CdTe modules, to ensure precise simulation parameters.
Updated documentation
Our PVcase Yield model documentation (impacted sections: 3.2.2, 3.3.4, 4.1.7) has been thoroughly updated to reflect these latest changes. We encourage you to review the updated sections and familiarize yourselves with the new functionalities and options available.
To ensure seamless integration and functionality with the latest updates, it is crucial that you update your existing module records (by re-uploading .PAN files or adding missing information manually). This step is necessary to maintain compatibility and leverage the full potential of the new features.
Inverter Model Enhancement for Temperature Derating
In our continuous effort to enhance the functionality and reliability of our systems, we're introducing a significant update to our inverter model. We've implemented features that allow for more accurate accounting of inverter derating at high temperatures. Here’s what’s new:
Field renaming
The Rated Power field has been renamed to Nominal Power to better reflect the standard terminology used industry-wide.
New fields and graphical representation
We've introduced seven new fields that combine power and temperature parameters. These fields come with clear labels and explanations to aid understanding and usability.
An additional graph has been incorporated into the inverter input modal to visually display these values, providing you with a clear graphical representation of how temperature affects inverter performance.
Enhanced documentation
Explanations have been added to the PVcase Yield model documentation (section: 3.3.6.) to provide users with the necessary context and understanding of their purpose and usage.
Impact on simulation results
Inverters having a maximum power exceeding their nominal power under low temperature conditions will output more power, thanks to lower clipping losses. Conversely, under high temperature conditions, inverters will output less power, and higher clipping losses will be observed.
PDF updates
The new fields have been integrated into the PDF documentation; however, note that the graph representation is omitted.
This update empowers users with more precise control and understanding of inverter performance under varying temperature conditions, ensuring optimal system efficiency and reliability.
Improvements
Enhanced Export Functionality
Unified export to XLSX
We've introduced a new feature that seamlessly combines multiple CSV files of results into a single, organized XLSX file. This enhancement simplifies the data management process, allowing for more efficient analysis and reporting. With all your data in one place, you'll have easier access to the insights you need.
Enhanced CSV export file content
Additional information is now included in the CSV files of results directly from the existing results table. This ensures that all relevant data is captured and available for review, without the need to cross-reference multiple sources. The enhanced detail provides greater context and facilitates comprehensive data evaluation.
Faster Projects Page Loading
In response to your feedback, we've optimized our projects page to significantly improve loading times, especially for companies with an extensive list of projects. Whether you're managing a handful of projects or overseeing a vast portfolio, your experience will now be smoother and more efficient.
We believe these enhancements will significantly improve your simulation experience and provide more robust options for modeling and analysis.
As always, we're here to help if you have any questions.
