The Mounting calculator is designed to automate the process of calculating and generating a precise bill of materials for mounting components in rooftop PV projects. It takes into account the roof’s geometry, the PV module layout, and system-specific requirements to determine the optimal arrangement and quantity of all your structural components (rails, clamps, fixings etc.).
After completing the layout generation, if you have enabled the mounting option, you can generate and export your project plan using the Mounting calculator.
Generate a mounting report
Select the PV area or rooftop for which you need the report.
You can always select a different area by clicking Reselect.
Set location
The calculator will automatically use the project's geolocation as previously specified in the Settings and the country will be specified according to the coordinates. If you need to analyze a different location, you can update the coordinates directly within the calculator, in the Coordinates field.
Review terrain and environment details
The software will present terrain and environmental parameters according to the selected location, as well as the relevant compliance standards. For more details, simply hover over the icon next to Terrain category to see an informative tooltip.
Choose roof material
From the drop-down menu, pick the roof material type that matches your installation site. This ensures the mounting system is tailored for safe and effective installation on your specific roof.
The mounting product will be Wave by default, as PanelClaw is currently the only provider available.
Export your project plan
When you’re ready, click Export project plan.
Choose your preferred location on your computer or network to save the exported plan file. Once confirmed, your project plan will be saved as a PDF and ready for use.
