To site co-located solar and storage projects, analyze both the discharging (injection) and charging (withdrawal) studies to ensure that you:
- have sufficient ability to inject energy onto the grid from the arrays, can charge up the battery (withdrawal), and
- subsequently inject energy back onto the grid from the battery.
In PVcase Prospect, you can apply filters to find POIs that meet all your requirements, including:
- Sufficient injection capacity and charging capacity for both the generation amount (MW) and energy storage needs (MW) of the project.
- You can filter for both injection and withdrawal amounts at the same time to target only POIs that meet both requirements for hybrid projects.
- Desired voltage range.
- As few pre-existing issues as feasible - typically, fewer is better to reduce risk that any won’t be addressed in time for your project, but some areas just have more pre-existing issues than others.
- Allocated costs within your project budget.
