Assets
Assets are a distinct category of downloaded features, which include substations, transmission lines (or distribution lines), and parcels. These assets are notable for their specific functionality, particularly in relation to project creation based around them and enhanced search capabilities.
Drawings
Drawings encompass any downloaded features apart from substations, transmission (or distribution) lines, or parcels. This includes shapes created on the map using drawing tools, constraint map polygons for hazard and buildable areas, and features copied from layer overlays (such as a utility territory polygon copied from a layer showing utility territories).
Layers
Layers are traditional GIS map layers that you can overlay on the map to see features represented geospatially. Data layers provide an overlay view on the map, but they do not offer the same interactive functionality as assets or drawings. However, you can download the data from a layer as either an asset or a drawing, depending on the data type. For instance, if you overlay a substation layer on the map, selecting a substation allows you to download it and add it to your project as an asset.
