Bill of Materials
Using PVcase you can easily export the bill of materials containing all necessary information related to the project. To perform this action, we will navigate to the Layout information tab. Having done so, we will now select the PV areas that we intend to export - this can be done by clicking on the select PV areas button and selecting all PV area boundary lines that we want to export. To finalize, we press Space or Enter on the keyboard. Example below:
To create the bill of materials files, click on the Export Bill of Materials button. We are now able to see a pop-up window where we will need to specify the directory where we want to save the file and have the option to rename it. To finalize the export process, click on Save. Now we are presented with another pop-up window asking if we want to open the BOM file; In this case, we will click Yes. Example below:
As we can see, we are presented with the exported Bill of Materials spreadsheet file, where we can find:

Project overview - this menu contains: General information about the design; Information by area - basic information about each PV area; Modules information - module parameters; Cable tray information; Layout information

Electrical information - this menu contains the details on the inverter power, string name, optimizers count, modules per string, string cable length, positive and negative lead lengths for each string to inverter, and extension cable length.
Export to PVsyst
When exporting to PVsyst we have two options to choose from:

Export by Modules - each module is considered as an individual frame on PVsyst.

Export by Groups - modules are grouped by row being separated by corridor gaps, Each group is considered as one table in PVsyst.
The export process for both options is the same. To export modules and shading objects, click on Export to PVsyst; then you will be prompted to select the roof and press Space or Enter to continue. Having done so, a new window will pop up where you will need to choose the export type Module or Groups. Then, give the file a name and choose the location where the file will be saved. To finalize, click Save. Example below:
How to import .PVC files to PVsyst

Open - and select the Near Shadings tab.

Click on Construction / Perspective.

Click File → Import → Import a 3D scene (3DS, DAE, PVC), and select your exported .PVC file.

In the Import results pop-up window, PVsyst will automatically read the units that were used while creating the project in PVcase.

Click OK.
