PV system owners often oversize their systems (high DC:AC ratio) to maximize annual energy production, even if it means some peak power loss. Grid operators may impose limits on injected power, and PVcase Yield allows applying these limits at either the grid connection or inverter output.
In the Grid section, you can easily include grid limitations and power factors in your simulations.
Grid limitations
You can apply grid limitations at the grid connection or inverter output level. To do so, activate the Apply grid limiting toggle button, select your preferred option, and insert the required value (MW).
Power factor
Power factor is an essential indicator of the efficiency in your plant.
In PVcase Yield, you can apply either a leading power factor or a lagging power factor.
The process is as simple as the one for applying grid limitations: activate the Power factor toggle, select your preferred option and insert the required value (between 0.1 and 1).
