Unlocking 15-Minute Sub-Hourly Simulations in PVcase Yield
As the solar industry moves toward higher DC/AC ratios and integrated Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), traditional hourly averages no longer provide the necessary precision. Hourly data smooths out critical irradiance peaks, which can lead to underestimated inverter clipping and inaccurate battery dispatch modeling.
To solve this, we are thrilled to announce that 15-Minute Sub-Hourly Simulations are now natively available in PVcase Yield!
Powered by our fast cloud-computation engine, you can now model complex, high-resolution yields seamlessly without bogging down your local machine.
🚀 What’s New
-
15-Minute Meteo Data Ingestion: You can now upload custom CSV weather files containing 15-minute interval data (35,040 rows per year).
 -
Automatic Resolution Detection: When you upload a valid sub-hourly file, the Data Source card will automatically update to explicitly show Time resolution: 15 min.
 -
Cloud-Native Processing: Once your meteo data is saved, just click "Run Simulation." Our cloud architecture effortlessly handles the 4x increase in data points, calculating highly accurate clipping and yield metrics at the 15-minute interval.
 -
Upgraded Results Page Visualizations: To handle the massive increase in data points on the Results page, we have overhauled the daily interval graphs. Smooth line graphs have been replaced with high-fidelity bar charts to accurately show each discrete 15-minute block. We also added a new "Time resolution" indicator and updated the daily X-axis to 2-hour increments (00:00, 02:00, etc.) so you can easily pinpoint specific cloud-edge effects and clipping events.
 - Granular PDF and CSV Exports: The sub-hourly accuracy carries completely through to your final deliverables. You can now export PDF reports reflecting the high-resolution summaries and download the full 35,040-row CSV file for external analysis or BESS modeling.
💡 How to Get Started
- Navigate to the Meteo tab in your project setup.
- Click Change data source and select CSV and MET files.
- Upload your 15-minute interval weather file.
- Confirm the setup, verify the Data Source card reads "15 min", and run your simulation!

We believe these enhancements will significantly improve your simulation experience and provide more robust options for modeling and analysis.
