The PVcase Component Database is a centralized, cloud-based library for managing solar component data across the PVcase ecosystem. It replaces disconnected CAD files with a single source of truth for technical specs - from initial feasibility through detailed engineering.
Creating new components
You can populate and manage your library using manual entry forms, single or batch PAN/OND file uploads, or AI-parsed manufacturer PDF datasheets.
To create a component:
- Log in to the Component Database with your account credentials.
- Head over to the PVcase Component Database to find pre-built components.
- Go to the top right corner to upload your PAN/OND files or PDF datasheet:
- Click Batch upload to create multiple components at once.
- Click Add new component to create a single component.
- Upload a file or enter the information manually.
- Review the filled parameters and make necessary adjustments.
- Click Save.
- Your uploaded components will be included in the list.
Note: An error message will appear if your entry is incomplete or duplicate, as automated checks block invalid and redundant data to keep the database accurate and organized.
Searching for Components
Access industry-standard data from trusted partners such as DNV, combined with components developed by your organization.
View Options
- All: Shows all available components.
- Company: Components created by your organization.
- External: Pre-populated, industry-standard components.
Finding components
- Select Modules or Inverters.
- Filter by Manufacturer, Added by, or DNV verified, or search directly.
Note: Search scans specific fields only:
- Inverters: Manufacturer, Model, Source, Added by, AC nominal voltage, Total MPPTs
- Modules: Manufacturer, Model, Module type, Source, Added by, Nameplate power, Dimensions
Modifying or removing components
You can manage components from the main list view or from inside the component's detailed page.
To edit a component:
- Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
- Select Edit.
- Modify the necessary parameters.
- Click Save changes.
To remove a component:
- Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the component.
- Select Delete.
To restore a component:
- Head over to the Activity log in the top-right corner.
- Select the three-dot menu.
- Click Restore component.
Note: You cannot modify the pre-built components provided by PVcase. You can only edit or delete your company's components. All changes are tracked in the Component Database Activity Log.
Activity Log
Use an Activity Log to automatically track every change, creation, or deletion of a component. It also lets you undo modifications or restore deleted components.
In PVcase Ground Mount, you can also receive proactive notifications when library components are updated, ensuring transparency across multi-departmental teams.
Managing and downloading technical files
Run faster feasibility simulations by downloading the original source datasheets or verified .PAN and .OND files directly from your Company Database. When custom components are built with our AI PDF parser, the system automatically populates and generates matching .PAN and .OND files with current component values.
Note: File downloads are exclusive to user-managed "Company" components to maintain library governance and comply with partner terms. Global PVcase and DNV components cannot be exported.
To export component files:
- Open your Company Database.
- Click the More Actions icon (three dots) in the top-right corner of the target component.
- Select Export as .PAN or Download source file.
Terms and Liability

However, users are responsible for verifying component accuracy and suitability. PVcase disclaims liability for any issues arising from incorrect data, and users should always cross-check parameters before finalizing project designs.
