Introduction
This article describes how to select an inverter model from the Component library, understand its setup options, and choose different placement choices. It also covers details like defining offset or elevation and how to add inverters to your layout.
Inverter model
The first step is to select the inverter model you want to use from the Component library.
This is where you can set the inverter parameters and change/edit them.
Inverter setup
Once you have selected the inverter from the Component library, you need to specify where you want to place the inverter (Inverter placement). Then, depending on the placement, you need to define either the Offset of the inverter or its Elevation from the ground.
Finally, you can either Pick from dwg or Add a new inverter to your layout.
Find out more about placement below.
Inverter placement
There are different placement options to choose from:
- On the roof
- Inside the building
On the roof
To place the inverter on the roof:
- Choose the inverter placement as On roof
- Define the Offset
- Click the Add button
- Select the location where you want to place the inverter
- Left-click to place the device
The device will be added as a PVcase inverter.
Inside the building
If you select this placement option from the dropdown, you can place your inverter on the building, inside the building or on the ground, depending on the Elevation from the ground.
To place an inverter inside the building:
- Choose the inverter placement as Inside building
- Indicate the inverter's elevation from the ground (e.g., 7 meters)
- Click the Add button
- Select the location to place the inverter
- Left-click to place the device
The device will be added as a PVcase inverter.
To place the inverter inside the building and on the ground, follow the same steps but specify the inverter’s Elevation from the ground as 0 meters.
Pick from dwg
You can place inverters already present in your drawing. Here’s how:
- Click on Pick from dwg
- Select the object
- Press Space or Enter on your keyboard to finalize
The device will be converted into a PVcase inverter.
