The PVcase Component Database

PVcase Yield now connects directly to the PVcase Component Database - a centralized, cloud-based library that serves as the single source of truth for module and inverter data across the entire PVcase ecosystem.

What this means for you:

• One Company Library - all components your team develops are stored in a single location, preventing duplication and allowing everyone to see what’s already available.
• External Library - access verified component data from external providers such as DNV, searchable alongside your own components.
• AI-powered datasheet parsing - simply drop in a manufacturer's PDF datasheet, and let the AI-powered parser extract the specifications for you.
• Cross-tool sync - switch between PVcase tools and your components come with you. No more re-entering parameters for each product.
• Access original files - download the source file for any component at any time.
• Full transparency - track every modification in the Activity Log and identify the creator of each component.

Adding components to a Yield project

The in-project component selection has been rebuilt around the Component Database:

• Search using power, manufacturer, or name, and filter by power class, manufacturer, or contributor - including a specialized DNV-verified filter.
• Browse by scope using the All / Company / External / Yield tabs.
• The latest components you added are shown first, making frequently chosen items accessible with just one click.

Creating new components

New components are now created in the Component Database itself - open it directly from the Yield sidebar via Open Component Database, or from the Manage database link in the component selection window. For a full guide, see Using the PVcase Component Database.

Legacy Yield library deprecation

With this release, the legacy Yield modules and inverter libraries become read-only. You can still view and use your existing library components in projects during the transition period, but you can create new components only in the Component Database.

• The legacy Yield library will be removed in 90 days. A banner in Yield shows the deprecation notice and links to more details.
  
  
  
   
• Your existing projects are not affected. Component parameters are stored within each project, so all past and current projects remain fully intact and reproducible.

Action needed: 

If you want to keep reusing components from your legacy Yield library, re-create them in the Component Database before the removal date - uploading the original PAN/OND file or PDF datasheet takes just a few clicks.

Enhancement

Components from PVcase Ground Mount exports are applied automatically

Importing a layout from PVcase Ground Mount just got smarter. When your GM export references modules or inverters in the PVcase Component Database, Yield now recognizes them automatically - no more recreating or manually matching components your team has already defined.

• Automatic detection - on layout import, Yield identifies which components in the export come from the Component Database and adds them to your project.
• No duplicates - if a component is already part of your project, it won't be added twice.
• Everything else works as before - components without a Component Database reference follow the existing import flow.

With the new Component Database integration, a layout created in Ground Mount is ready in Yield with its components, reducing one step between design and simulation.

We believe these enhancements will significantly improve your simulation experience and provide more robust options for modeling and analysis.
