If you already have a site and/or POI that you want to evaluate interconnection potential for, follow this flow to evaluate it using PVcase Prospect Capacity.
Create a project for the site
From a new or existing project, locate the site/POI of interest: use the map search bar and type in the site’s APN/PIN, Address, or Lat/Long Coordinates — or import site data.
Once you've honed in on the location of the site, add the target parcels to the project:
- Turn on the parcels layer in the Layer catalog in the top right of the project.
- Save the parcels of interest to the project.
Look up interconnection details for nearest POI
- In the Layer catalog, navigate to the Premium – Capacity folder for the region.
- Open the Bus Headroom Capacity or Line Headroom Capacity folder.
- Turn on the interconnection scenario layer of interest.

- Click on the POI that is nearest to the target site.
- In the pop-up window, scroll up and down to review key interconnection details, including:
- Headroom capacity — is it sufficient for project size?
- Voltage — is it in the target voltage range for the project?
- Allocated costs at different project sizes — are these costs within your project budget?
- Pre-existing issues count — are there a lot of pre-existing issues? How confident are you that they'll be fixed? Click the Constraint Scenarios button for full details on pre-existing issues. Click Export PDF to export the Interconnection Report for the POI.
Save POI to project
In the pop-up on the map, click Add to Project to save the substation (bus) or transmission line to the project.
