Already have a target POI in mind and want to look up capacity and interconnection information for it? Follow the steps below to locate the POI and see interconnection details.
Steps
- From the target project, click Add Grid in the workflow sidebar on the left side of the project page.
- Under Select Grid Type, choose whichever POI type you're looking for: Power Lines or Substations.
- Choose from Layer
- Under Choose Source, select one of the Capacity layers depending on the desired scenario.
- In the Apply Boundary selection, choose to search within: Draw Area on Map.
- Use your cursor to draw a boundary around entire an region (or wherever the target POI is likely located).
- In the table at the bottom of the window, click on the Filter button or Filters tab on the right side of the table.
- Under the Filters tab, choose the specific field to filter the POIs by (e.g. Substation Name, Substation Bus Number [ISO naming], Substation Model Identifier [ISO naming]).
In the example below, we filtered off of Substation Name to find the target POI.
- Scroll to the right to see information from the interconnection study for the POI (injection or charging capacity, pre-existing condition count, allocated costs, etc.)
- Once you've located the target POI, check the box for the desired row and click Add to Project.
Once you've saved the POI to the project, you can easily re-access the full capacity information, study details, and capacity report:
- From the Layer catalog, turn on the target capacity study scenario.
- Click on the saved substation on the map, and then over to the tab in the pop up that has the full capacity details.
- In the pop-up, it will list the injection or withdrawal capacity, count of pre-existing issues, etc.
