You can import multiple parcels into your project simultaneously using CSV files. You can also enrich those parcels with ReportAll data.
File requirements
The system only supports CSV (Comma-separated values) files.
If your data is in another format, you must convert it to CSV first. Here are the steps for common applications:
- Excel: Go to File > Save As and choose CSV as the file type.
- Google Sheets: Go to File > Download > CSV file type.
- Numbers: Go to File > Export To > CSV.
Upload your file
To add parcels to your project:
- In the Sidebar, select Add Land.
- Select From CSV file.
- Upload the CSV file from your computer or drag and drop it into the upload area.
Parcel location type
Next, use the Parcel location type dropdown to select the method you want to use for locating your parcels.
The dropdown includes 3 options:
- Address
- Parcel ID (APN/PIN)
- Latitude & Longitude
Address Search
From the dropdown, select the column header that contains the full site address of the parcels you want to add. This tells us which column in the CSV file contains the addresses for the parcels you intend to add.
| Field | Required? | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Site Address Column | Yes | 123 East West Street, Town, CO |
This is the only required field in your CSV file if you are doing an address lookup. See the example file Address search below:
Parcel ID
Selecting Parcel ID will let you lookup parcels by their APN or PIN identifier. After selecting Parcel ID, you will have up to 4 fields to map to your file's column headers.
Adding County ID and/or Zip Code can help you add only the parcels intended as most parcel IDs (APN and PIN) are county specific IDs, so they can be reused even within the same state. If you do a parcel ID search with just parcel ID and State code, expect to get a few more parcels returned to you then the number of rows in your file.
| Field | Required? | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Parcel ID column | Yes | -- |
| County ID | No | County Name (example: Sussex) |
| State ID | Yes | 2 digit state code (example NY, CO, CA, TX) |
| Zip Code | No | 5 digit zip code |
See the example file APN search below:
Latitude & Longitude search
Selecting Latitude & Longitude will allow you to add the parcels to your project that contain the point of the latitude and longitude you provide.
| Field | Required? | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Latitude & Longitude | Yes | Decimal Degress (ex. 39.7561, -104.9942) |
This is the only field you will need to map for a lat/long search.
See the example file Lat-Long Search below:
Review results and add to project
Clicking Read file will begin the search once your data is mapped to our fields. The process may take a little time, depending on the volume of parcels you are adding.
You will see a point marker on the map indicating the location of your parcels, along with a count of the parcels found. Please compare this count to the number of parcels you expected to find.
Most parcel IDs (APN and PIN) are county specific IDs, so they can be reused even within the same state. If you do a parcel ID search with just parcel ID and State code, expect to get a few more parcels returned to you then the number of rows in your file.
After you've confirmed that the number and location of the parcels is correct, go ahead and click Add to Project at the bottom of the sidebar. This will also take a second, as we're gathering all the relevant data from our parcel provider for each of these parcels.
Potential Errors
Error reading file
This occurs if you've uploaded the wrong file type.
Error with (multiple) field(s)
This issue occurs when data in a column is invalid or improperly formatted. For instance, in the example below, the address data was incorrect, resulting in the message Error with Address. If multiple columns contain improperly formatted data, the message displayed will be error with multiple fields.
