This method is useful for adding targeted parcels that aren’t found in standard searches, or for expanding your project area by including neighboring parcels from your own data. It’s ideal for customizing or supplementing your selection around key anchor parcels.
Add parcels from Parcels map layer (one-by-one)
View parcel boundaries
With the Parcels layer, you can view parcel boundaries and save parcels directly from the map.
- On the project map, go to the Layer catalog in the upper right hand corner
- Scroll down to find the Parcels layer (or filter by typing parcels in the search bar at the top of the layers menu)
- Click on the layer name to display layer on map
- On the map, click on the parcels (in orange) to see parcel and land owner information
Clicking on a parcel counts towards annual parcel usage allotments.
This layer requires a fairly high zoom level. If the parcel boundaries are not displaying, zoom in on the map until the orange boundaries appear.
Save parcels to project
Clicking on a parcel on the map displays the owner information, but doesn't save the parcel to the project automatically.
In the parcel pop-up window on the map, click Add to Project to save it as an asset.
The color of the parcel boundary will change to blue (indicating that it has now been saved from the layer).
Saved parcels will also appear in the Parcels tab below the project map.
Save parcels to a project in bulk
Using Map Tools, create a custom polygon in which to add parcels to your project in bulk. Here's how:
- Toggle on the parcels layer.
- Zoom in on the area desired.
- Click on Map Tools, and then
- Select by Polygon >
- Features from a layer >
- Parcels
- The polygon tool will automatically appear. Draw out the custom search area.
- After the polygon is complete the parcel search pop up will appear. Enter in the desired acreage and optional advanced settings.
- Click Get Count and Run to save parcels to the project.
