Quickly see a parcel's distance to their nearest substation or power line and the name of the nearest substation or power line as you review parcels on a project.
Background
The Distance to Nearest Substation/Power Line and Nearest Substation/Power Line fields are very useful for large-scale projects. They help identify which parcels are related to a specific substation or power line. This makes it easy to bulk review or remove parcels based on their proximity to nearby grid infrastructure.
- Distance to Nearest Substation: Lists the distance (miles) of each parcel to the closest substation asset on the project.
- Distance to Nearest Power Line: Lists the distance (miles) of each parcel to the closest power line asset on the project.
- Nearest Substation: Lists the name of the closest substation asset for each parcel on the project.
- Nearest Power Line: Lists the name of the closest power line asset for each parcel on the project.
Using these fields, you can:
- Export a parcel list from a large project and track which parcels relate to which line or sub on a multi-sub or multi-line project
- Bulk delete all parcels on a project that are greater than a certain distance from a substation or line.
View fields
After creating a project with substations and/or power lines and adding parcels:
- Go to the Parcels tab
- Go to the Columns list under the three-dot menu (also see Configure columns)
- Check the boxes to select the Distance to Nearest Substation/Power Line and Nearest Substation/Power Line columns
Note
These columns can only be selected when the corresponding asset is saved to the project. For example, if you only have power lines saved to a project, you will not be able to select the Substation columns until you add substations to the project.

These columns will now appear in the Parcels list showing each parcel's closest substation and/or power line and the distance from that asset.
