Save a KML/MKZ as a custom layer on a specific project, parcel, state, or for the entire company. Custom layers saved at the company level are only visible to users within your organization.
Save a KML/KMZ as a custom layer
You can import a KML or KMZ file and save it as a custom layer in PVcase Prospect, choosing exactly where it should be available: for a specific project, a particular parcel, an entire state, or for your whole company.
You can easily do so by following these steps:
- Locate the KML/KMZ file in your computer's file directory. If it's still in Google Earth, make sure to export it.
- Drag and drop the file name over the project map in PVcase Prospect.
In some cases, an asset import table will pop up. You can close that table, as it is used to import assets from a KML/KMZ, and is not needed when saving a KMZ as a layer.
The layer appears automatically in the Unsaved Layers area of the Layer Catalog and on the map.
Unsaved layers are temporary, so make sure to save the layer if you need to use it again later.
