Save a GeoPackage file as a custom layer on a specific project, parcel, state, or for the entire company. Custom layers saved at the company level are only visible to users within your organization.
Before you start
The GeoPackage (GPKG) file must be downloaded on your computer for this process to work. The GeoPackage can contain one or more layers.
See these instructions on how to create a GeoPackage from QGIS layers.
Import a a GeoPackage file
If you haven't created a new project, see how to do so from the Portfolio View (homepage) in Create a new siting project. Then follow the steps described in the sections below.
Drag and drop GeoPackage onto map
- Find the gpkg file in your computer's file directory (file will be in whichever folder it was saved to - e.g. Downloads).
- Click on the file name in the file directory and then drag and drop the file name over any map in PVcase Prospect.
Enter custom folder name
Enter a custom folder name for the GeoPackage content and click Import.
The layer or layers from the GeoPackage will show up in the Layer Catalog as an unsaved layer, and the layer features will appear on the map.
Unsaved layers are temporary, so make sure to save the layer if you need to use it again later.
