New features
LabelingÂ
Previously, mechanical and electrical labeling were separate workflows. We have now consolidated this into a single Labeling feature. This feature will allow you to easily define and generate all your project-related labels in a few easy steps.Â
Â
Where to find it:Â
The new tool is located in the Labeling option of the Ground Mount ribbon. For flexibility, you can still access this tool via the Frame and Park settings or the Electrical Devices tab.
Â
Â
How it works:
- Select Areas: Pick the PV area(s) you wish to label.
- Choose mode: Select between Mechanical or Electrical labels.
- Note: For electrical labels, you must first generate your electrical devices in order to apply labels.Â
- Configure Visibility: Use the Label Visibility column on the left to toggle ON/OFF full labels or specific parts of the label using the lightbulb icon. You can also change the order of variables in the label by dragging a label variable up or down, and the label will update in the preview diagram.
- Style & Edit: Click the “Aa” icon to adjust background colors and font sizes. To edit the label text, simply click the label in the live preview diagram on the right. You can also click the number variable to adjust leading zeros when editing the text.
- Set numbering order: For mechanical labels, configure the numbering order to control how labels are sequenced across the PV area by configuring horizontal and vertical order. Electrical labels will get placed based on device numbering settings in the electrical devices tab.
- Apply: Click Label area(s) to apply labels to your drawing. You can remove labels by clicking Remove labeling.Â
Â
Â
Additional labeling improvements
- Multi-area labeling for mechanical: You can now select and label multiple PV areas at once - no more applying labels one by one.Â
- New Variables: We have introduced the option to include the associated PV area number for all labels and Pile Height for mechanical labels. Additionally, Frame number association has been added for electrical string labels.Â
- Increase character limits: Character counts have been increased from 6 to 8 to allow more descriptive labeling.
- Continuous frame numbering for mechanical labels: When turned ON, mechanical labels number sequentially across the entire PV area (e.g., 1 to 500). When turned OFF, numbering resets at the start of each row (e.g., 1 to 20 per row).
Improvements
QuickYield full release
Our QuickYield feature is now out of Beta! QuickYield provides a directionally accurate yield preview in seconds, helping you make data-driven decisions during the iteration phase. QuickYield is available in the Layout Information and Capacity Iteration tools. You can learn more about QuickYield here.
KML Export color preservation
Visual clarity is key when sharing designs. When exporting a KML file from PVcase Ground Mount, the software now preserves the assigned colors of your layers and objects. This ensures your design remains easy to navigate when imported into tools like Google Earth.Â
Expanded capabilities for Preliminary Electrical Beta
Preliminary Electrical Design allows you to build a complete electrical layout — including Powerstations, devices, strings, and cabling — with minimum input. We are continually adding new features to the Prelim Elec Beta, which now supports up to 3 transformer sizes for string-inverter-based designs. The algorithm is designed to prioritize your largest transformer first, then incorporate smaller sizes to ensure full coverage across your project area.
Minor Updates
- Export to BOM: We’ve optimized the “Export to BOM” functionality — piling data now generates significantly faster, especially for utility-scale projects.
- Bug Fixes: Resolved an issue affecting the placement accuracy of devices on East-West frames.Â
