We're excited to share the latest updates for PVcase Ground Mount:

Improvements
Export to KML enhancements
You now have granular control over your data exports. Customize your output by choosing precisely the elements to include:
- Areas
- Frames
- Piles
- Shading Objects
- Electrical (currently supports only Transformers)
- Roads
You can now also include piles in your projects, with full support for retaining their exact rectangular or circular shapes to maximize layout accuracy.
Additionally, we added the option to choose how frames are represented:
- Absolute - it retains your design's position, offering the most realistic park representation. Terrain differences may cause some frames to clip into terrain. This was the default mode before.
- Relative to the ground - it will respect the height from the terrain used in Ground mount and will try to adapt in software where KML will be used
- Clamp to ground - this positions frames as 2D shapes directly on the terrain, matching how all other objects are exported.

Terrain-following tracker placement is now evaluated from both directions
Terrain-following tracker rows are now generated from both ends of the row, and the option with the least combined cut and fill is automatically selected. Across five real project drawings, combined cut and fill was reduced by roughly 2% to 18%, with the biggest improvements observed in areas where a single row had previously resulted in both a substantial cut and a considerable fill.
Before: rows were generated from one end only, often requiring manual adjustments to correct suboptimal placements.
Now: you can generate the layout once and automatically apply the most efficient placement for every row—no manual corrections required.
Rename electrical devices
You can rename electrical devices so device names in the drawing and exports match the naming convention used throughout the project.
How does it work?
- Select the electrical device you want to rename in the Electrical Overview window..
- Right-click the device and choose Change name.
- Type the new name and press Confirm - the updated name instantly syncs across both your drawing and report exports.
Electrical device placement customization
When placing 3D electrical devices, they no longer need to be mounted directly to the frame post. You can now enable custom placement and define exactly where the device sits relative to the frame. Frame-post mounting remains enabled by default, ensuring existing workflows remain unchanged.
How does it work?
- When placing a 3D device, untick Mount device to frame post (ticked by default - leaving it on keeps the current behavior).
- "Distance from frame (m)" is replaced by "Distance from ground," and the device is placed with reference to the ground at that location.
- X and Y fields appear beside the existing Z field. Offsets are measured from the top corner of the frame for Fixed Tilt (FT), and from the top center for Single-Axis Trackers (SAT) and East-West (EW) systems. Defaults are x = 0, y = 0, z = 0.5, and values accept up to three decimal places.
- The device is generated at the specified offset, and a post is created at the device origin from the ground up to the top of the device. Devices are generated only on the higher-side piles (EW, FT).
Minor updates
- 2x to 10x faster shading calculations, significantly boosting overall project performance depending on object count and type.
- Added a "Refresh" button to the Electrical Overview window to quickly update real-time data.
- Convert Polyline3D objects to PVcase frames directly using the Convert to PVcase tool.
- Inverter models are now displayed directly within the Electrical Overview window.
- Conductor temperature fields now populate automatically on drawings created in earlier versions.
