When searching for Parcels, you can define a search area around combinations of other parcels, substations, or power lines. When using multiple criteria and a search area, select the search type. In AND (intersecting) searches, the results will meet all criteria. In OR (any) searches, results will meet any criterion.
Select multiple criteria
Define a search area around other parcels, substations, or power lines, any combination of two, or all three.
When multiple criteria have been enabled, and search area value is filled in, select the type of search.
AND (intersecting) search areas
Results will meet all of the criteria. This means that the search will occur where each of the search areas intersect or overlap.
Example: Search for all Parcels that are both within 1 mile of a substation saved to the project, and within 0.5 miles of a target power line.
OR (any) search areas
Results will meet any of the criteria. This means that the search area will be a union or combination of all the areas defined in the form.
Example: Search for any parcels that are within either 1 mile of a substation saved to the project, or within 0.5 miles of a target power line.
This is a larger search area, and will likely get more results. Each result will meet at least one of the criteria/search areas defined in the search form, but may not fall within all of them.
Next steps
After selecting the search type, you can go ahead with the search process.
