Customize buildable area calculations in PVcase Prospect by setting minimum feature diameter and width requirements. Ensure that only sufficiently large and practical areas are included in your project analysis for smarter site planning.
Overview
These required fields appear only for point and line feature layers on the New tab.
Feature diameter
The Feature diameter field appears exclusively on the New tab on the Buildable area analysis and Prescan forms and only for layers with point features. When the Feature diameter is present, providing a value is required.
The Buildable area analysis and Prescan use this value to determine the circular area of the point feature for the purpose of calculating how much it overlaps with parcels in the analysis. Providing a Setback for the features, in addition to the Feature diameter, is optional.
The image below shows an exclusion point feature with Feature diameter=10 and Setback=20.
Feature width
The Feature width field appears exclusively on the New tab on the Buildable area analysis and Prescan forms and only for layers with line features. When the Feature width is present, providing a value is required.
The image below shows an exclusion line feature with Feature Width = 10 and Setback = 20
The Buildable area analysis and Prescan use this value to determine the width of the area of the line feature for the purpose of calculating how much it overlaps with parcels in the analysis. Providing a Setback for the features, in addition to the Feature width, is optional.
