Save individual substations or transmission lines as assets from a layer
- Turn on the desired grid layer using the steps above
- Find and click a line or sub on the map
- In the layer pop-up, click the Add to Project button to save the feature as an asset on the project
The substation or line will now be saved as an asset on the project even when the layer is turned off. Now you can add land by searching for parcels around saved project features.
Save multiple substations or transmission lines as assets from a layer
There are two ways you can save grid infrastructure in bulk to a project:
- Use the Select by Polygon tool
- Use the Add Grid — from Layer workflow. This provides the same functionality as the Select by Polygon tool, but also allows you to select grid from a boundary using an existing layer (e.g. County Boundaries)
