Edit the color and style of line assets, parcel polygons, and drawings. Save style templates for easy style changes in the future.
Edit object boundary/ shape
There are two ways to edit an object boundary or shape:
- By dragging and dropping
- By creating an intersection polygon
Method 1: Drag and drop
- Right-click on the object you want to edit the boundary or shape of
- Under the right-click menu, click Edit > Edit Boundary
Use Move Shape if you simply want to move the existing shape to another location on the map
The tool is turned on when the text turns blue.
- You will see a blue dot on your cursor when you hover over the object. You can then drag and drop as needed to manipulate the object's shape.
When you're finished, be sure to turn the tool off to avoid accidentally making any other changes to the object. Simply repeat the same steps to turn the tool on:
- Right-click on the object
- Click Edit and then Edit Boundary again
Method 2: Create an intersection polygon
Create a sub-section of a parcel boundary by creating an intersection polygon
- Draw polygon around section of the parcel that you want to save as a separate parcel
- Turn off the drawing functionality
- Select the original parcel boundary and the user-added drawing polygon in the sidebar :
- CTRL + click the polygon drawing and then CTRL + click the original parcel boundary. This way, they're both selected in the map side bar
- Select Design
- Select Intersection Geometry
- Click Build
- Delete the user-added polygon
- If desired, delete the original parcel
Convert the polygon into a Land/Parcel asset
- Click on the new black boundary on the map and save it as a custom parcel
- In the pop up, click Create
- Select Land
To edit the name of the parcel
- Click the pencil in the parcel pop up on the map
- Enter a new parcel name/parcel attributes
Create custom style
Open the style editor
To update the color/style of an object on the map:
- Right-click the object on the map
- In the pop-up, click Edit
- Click Edit Style
Change the parcel color
If you want to edit the color of a parcel on the map, you must right-click the actual parcel polygon on the map. If you right-click the blue parcel marker, you won't see the Edit Style option.
If you have constraints displayed on the map, they may be in the way of right-clicking the parcel polygon directly, so you can easily hide the constraints by clicking the constraint map icon in the bottom-right corner of the map.
Click the constraint map icon to quickly hide constraints. This way, you can right-click the parcel polygon on the map and edit the style.
Apply the custom style
- Use the settings in the Land style template to customize:
- Fill color (internal polygon color) and fill opacity
- Border weight (how thick or thin the border of a polygon is) and border color/opacity
- Click Apply to update the asset/drawing's style
See how the style will look in the Style preview pane at the bottom of the form.
This will update the style of the object on the map with the new custom styling.
Style templates
Save custom style as a template
You can save a newly created custom style as a template for future use.
- Follow the steps above to create a custom style and click Apply
- In the pop-up pop-up, click Yes to save custom style as a template. If it's a one-off style change, just click No.
- Input a name in the Template Name field
- Click Save
Apply a saved style template
To apply a previously saved style template to a new asset or drawing:
- Right-click the object on the map
- In the pop-up, click Edit
- Click Edit Style
In the style template form, find the desired template and click Apply.
